TERRY S. HILDEBRAND FORT DEFIANCE, VA… Terry Scott Hildebrand, 64, husband of Nancy (Alley) Hildebrand, of 756 New Hope and Crimora Road, died peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 18, 1952, in Staunton, a son of the late Lawrence William and Anna Lee (Sandridge) Hildebrand. He was united in marriage to his wife, Nancy, on June 14, 1975. Mr. Hildebrand was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a lineman from 1972 to 1975. He retired from Wayn-Tex with over 30 years of service as a master welder fabricator. He was a member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren, and the Waynesboro Moose, Elks, and Eagles. He was a founding and life member of the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department and past member of Dooms Volunteer Fire Department. He loved woodworking, smoking any kind of meat, and cooking BBQ chicken. In addition to his wife, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Scott Hildebrand (Jennifer) of Staunton and David Hunter Hildebrand (Heather) of Goldsboro, North Carolina; a brother, William Hildebrand of Chestertown, Maryland; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Ethan, Madison, and Kylie; a niece, Tiffany Huberts; two nephews, Michael and Erik Hildebrand; a great nephew, Levi Huberts; and numerous cousins. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, in Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Galen Combs. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matt Wade, Mark Wade, Michael Hildebrand, John Sandridge, Jim Lilley, and B.J. Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Seekers Sunday School Class and friends of the Waynesboro Moose. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016, in the Henry Funeral Home and any time at the residence.
