THELMA B. CLEM PENN LAIRD, VA Thelma Virginia (Beverage) Clem, 95, widow of Russell Rufus Silva Clem of 6215 Gwyna Drive, died Sunday, October 21, 2012, at her residence. She was born September 20, 1917, in Highland County, a daughter of the late Boyd and Lucy (Wagner) Beverage. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Clem was secretary for St. Paul's United Methodist Church for many years. She was a very active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and journalist, a loving, dedicated mother, grandmother, and wife. Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Russell Clem, II of Richmond and Michael and Connie Clem of Penn Laird; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Clem and Robert Brown of Frederick, MD; eleven grandchildren, Leah Clem Noce, Russell Clem, III, Lilly Clem, David Clem, Christopher Brown, Peter Brown, Sara Brown, Virginia Brown Fry, Michael Hill, Sarah Hall, and Robert Brown III; and fifteen great grandchildren, Cole Emory Noce, Jared William Randolph, Stephen Brown, Jennifer Hall, Ian Hall, Delanie Hall, Madison Hill, Isabella Hall, Tony Fry, Alexander Brown, Grace Brown, Juliet Fry, Nicole Brown, Robert Andrew Brown, and Jack Noce. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012, in St. Paul's United Methodist Church by the Rev. Betty Jane Clem and Rev. Wade Munford. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Christopher Brown, Peter Brown, Russell Clem III, Michael Hill, Sam Clem, Sr., Sam Clem, Jr., David Clem, and Brian Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be John Clem IV and Dick Hiner. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home.
