THOMAS A. GLOVER STAUNTON, VA… Thomas Allen Glover, 79, husband of Eda (Protil) Glover, of Staunton, passed on to be with his son, Allen Dale Glover, Wednesday, April 18, 2018. He was born October 28, 1938 in Augusta County, to Samuel Wilson and Audrey Marie (Hudlow) Glover. He was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. Mr. Glover was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Tom was employed by DuPont for 43 years as a sheet metal welder where he made many lifelong friends. A member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church, Tom served faithfully out of a strong love for the Lord and people. He was an ardent sportsman, passionately cheering on the Hokies and the Dodgers, hunting, and being outdoors. His greatest memories are from the picnic area at Christian’s Creek where many believers were baptized and his family and friends frequently gathered. His greatest desire in his last days was to see his friends and family dedicated to Christ. In addition to his wife of 56 years, family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine Marie and Nevin Pilson and Julie Anne and Rick Yeomans; a daughter-in-law, Mary (Stevens) Glover; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Dale and Charlotte Glover and James Wilson and Kathryn Glover; and eight grandchildren, Abigael Nicole and Gabriel Patrick Glover, Matthew Nevin and Hanna Elizabeth Pilson, Richard Anthony, III, Merab Kathleen, Rachel Sophia, and Nathanael Thomas Yeomans. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Hermitage Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. H. Wray Sherman. Burial will be private. There will be a reception following the memorial service at the church. There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions in Tom’s name to Hermitage Presbyterian Church, 46 Hildebrand Church Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980, Grace Christian School, 511 Thornrose Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401, or a charity of one’s choice. Among the best things we can give each other are good memories. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
