Thomas Pare Hern, Sr.

THOMAS P. HERN, SR. STAUNTON, VA Thomas Pare Hern, Sr., 87, widower of Vera (Long) Hern, of 1410 North Augusta Street, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Augusta Health. He was born on October 30, 1925, in Lewisburg, West Virginia, to the late Jess L. and Jennie (Pare) Hern. Mr. Hern served in the United States Navy during World War II. Prior to retirement, he was in engineering at Westvaco. He was a member of Granbery United Methodist Church in Covington and the Masonic Order. Family members include a son, Thomas Pare Hern, Jr. and his wife, Lyell, of Verona; a daughter, Jennie Elizabeth Kile of Florida; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. There will be no public visitation or service. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
