Thomas W. Upton
Thomas Wright Upton, 77, husband of Becky Upton, passed away on January 13, 2022, at Shenandoah House Hospice.
He was born on July 26, 1944, in Norfolk to the late Charles E. Jr. and Madlyn E. Upton.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rebecca T. Upton; two daughters, Paula S. Upton of Dunedin, FL and Ann Upton Bond, and her husband, Scott, of Connelly Springs, NC; son Thomas W. Upton II of Richmond, VA; grandchildren Madlyn C. Upton and Sterling H. Upton; and special friend, David Pence.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles E. Upton III.
Mr. Upton graduated from Augusta Military Academy in 1964 and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Staunton Lodge #13 of AF & AM Masons, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Acca Temple Shriners; Staunton Elks #351, Shenandale Gun Club, and Brushy Mountain Gun Club.
At Tom’s request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shenandoah House Hospice, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Marsh and the staff of Shenandoah House for their care and support.
