VALLIE A. STOUTAMYER STUARTS DRAFT, VA Vallie Alice Stoutamyer, 98, of 2 Bowmans Run Drive and formerly of 26 Memorial Street, Verona, died Friday, January 17, 2014, at Augusta Health. She was born on September 13, 1915, in Mt. Solon, a daughter of the late Sadie Stoutamyer Hise Michael. Prior to retirement, she was employed by DuPont with 30 years of service. She was a member of Verona Full Gospel Church. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Everette Don and Frieda Knott of Stuarts Draft; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray Willis and Polly Hise of Mt. Solon; two sisters, Dorothy McMann of Lewisburg, WV, and Jerry Trimble of Bellflower, CA; four grandchildren and their spouses, Gaytha Roby and husband, Kyter, Randy Sutler and wife, Teresa, Melanie Ault and husband, Rob, and Bryan Knott and wife, Carol; nine great grandchildren, Joshua Puffenbarger and wife, Amber, Shiloh Roby, Cody Sutler and wife, Tori, Stacey Wilson and husband, Tyler, Lacy Patchen and husband, Blake, R.C. Ault, Kaelyn, Chaney, and Trevor Knott; and two great, great grandchildren, Lucas Patchen, and Dexter Sutler; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Lee Sutler; a brother, Thomas Paxton; a sister, Vivian Moneymaker; and a great granddaughter, Tasha Morrison. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2014, in Laurel Hill Full Gospel Church by the Rev. William Strickler. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kyter Roby, Randy Sutler, Bryan Knott, Joshua Puffenbarger, Shiloh Roby, Tyler Wilson, and Cody Sutler. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014, in the Henry Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends at other times at Gaytha's residence, 2465 Springhill Road, Staunton, or Don's residence, 2 Bowmans Run Drive, Stuarts Draft. The family would like to thank Dr. Farley and Lisa for everything and a special thanks to the nurses and aids on third floor east at Augusta Health.
