VIRGINIA L. JACKSON STAUNTON, VA… Virginia (Lessley) Jackson, 83, widow of Dolly Jackson, Jr., of 5 East Avenue, died Thursday, November 30, 2017. She was born January 2, 1934 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Marshall L. and Irene Opal (Michael) Lessley. Prior to retirement, she was employed by White Wave Laundry as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Women of the Moose and the Ladies Auxiliary #2216. Virginia enjoyed camping and was dedicated to her husband and never left his side during his failing health. Family members include a brother, Robert Henry Lessley of Massachusetts; a nephew, Mark Davis (Joan) of Verona; a niece, Linda Jackson of Staunton; brother-in-law, Thomas Jackson (Mary) of Swoope; and special friends, Joyce and French Simmons. In addition to her husband of 61 years, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John William Lessley and Virgil Wallace Lessley; a sister-in-law, Jenny Lessley; and two brothers-in-law, Frank Jackson and Delmar Jackson. She will be missed by all her friends on “the hill”. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. December 4, 2017 in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Brandon Carter. The family will receive friends from 12 until 4 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Virginia’s Home, 5 East Avenue, Staunton.
