Virginia Caroline Tichenor

VIRGINIA C. TICHENOR STAUNTON, VA… Virginia Caroline (Campbell) Tichenor, 98, widow of Irwin Leo Tichenor, of Staunton, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at her residence. She was born January 26, 1919, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Jefferson Fielding and Maude Estelle Campbell. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Western State Hospital as a charge aide. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, James William and Kathy Beam of Staunton; a daughter, Tommie Sue Davis of Staunton; a step-son, Irwin Leo Tichenor; two grandchildren, William Thomas and Greg Alan Beam; and three great grandchildren, Liam, Logan, and Sebastian. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Patsy Gale Whitesell; seven brothers; and six sisters. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wade Munford. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
