REV. W. ALBERT MASSEY STAUNTON, VA Rev. W. Albert Massey, 94, widower of Louise K. Massey, of 31Woodlee Road, died Monday, April 30, 2012, in Brightview at Baldwin Park. He was born November 25, 1917, in King and Queen County, a son of the late William Samuel and Rosa Blanche (Milby) Massey. Rev. Massey graduated from Allentown Bible Institute and the Richmond Professional Institute of William and Mary College. Prior to retirement in 1988, Rev. Massey was pastor of Wesleyan Church. He was a former assistant pastor at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, interim pastor at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Roanoke, former Virginia District Superintendent with 10 years of service. He also served as pastor in Turnersville, NJ, Phillipsburg, PA, Richmond, VA, Williamsport, PA, Boothwyn, PA., and Vinton, VA. He was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Roanoke. In addition to his wife, who preceded him in death on February 14, 2010, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Ohlson, Ethelyn Moore and Gladys Rodgers; and five brothers, Ashley Massey, Hersey Massey, Samuel Massey, William U. Massey and Paul N. Massey. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Anne Massey of Urbanna and Ray and Kathy Massey of Dallas, PA; a daughter and a son-in-law, Beverley (Massey) and Rev. J. Leland Collins of Winchester; two sisters, Ruth Jenkins, and Marie Malcomb; three grandchildren, Michelle Massey, Michael Massey, and Kristen Massey; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Parkway Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Barry Lawson, assisted by the Revs. Dr. Melvin Dieter, Charles Carroll, Greg Reynolds, Doug Gunsalas, David Gilbert and Dale Argot. Active pallbearers will be Loyal Moore, Richard Massey, Franklin Massey, Nelson Puffenbarger, Wayne Jenkins, and Wesley Malcomb. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Parkway Wesleyan Church, 1987 Springhill Road, Staunton, VA or to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
