WAYNE B. BROWN Wayne Brown, 64, of 305 White Hall Avenue, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at his residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Moneymaker) Brown. Wayne was born March 5, 1948, in Waynesboro and was a son of the late Lee Roy and Albalona (Gill) Brown. Wayne was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church, Eagles 680, Moose and VFW 2216. Wayne was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing golf. In addition to his wife, family members include a daughter, Dawn Renee Brown of Staunton; a beloved granddaughter, McKenzie Renee Brown; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Rex Greaver of Staunton; two nephews, Dale Greaver, wife Lindy and son, Matthew, and Jimmie Brown; two nieces, Mary Donna Olsen and Liz Brown; special friends, Rhonda, David, and Davy Zimmerman. Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmie, Donald, and Harry Lewis Brown. A funeral service will be conducted at Christ United Methodist Church on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00 am by the Reverend Robert Edwards. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matthew and Dale Greaver, Jimmie Brown, Ronnie Hevener, Scott Engleman, Donnie Coffey, Bucky Craft, and James D. Doyle. Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Ayers, Kenny Amick, Roy Groah, and the men and ladies of the Eagles Lodge. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, May 8 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939. .
