Wilda Jean Stokes

JEAN H. STOKES CRAIGSVILLE, VA Wilda Jean (Helmick) Stokes, 62, wife of Lewis Stokes, of Craigsville, died December 21, 2012 in Staunton. She was born January 26, 1950 in Augusta County, daughter of Arthur Francis and Georgia (Boyers) Helmick. She worked at the Hardees of Staunton for twenty-two years. Family include her daughters, Teresa Sprouse of Stuarts Draft and Tammy May of Waynesboro; five brothers, George Helmick, Richard Helmick, Teddy Helmick, Raymond Helmick, and Paul Helmick; grandchildren, Megan Sprouse Weaver, Holly Sprouse, Joey Lambert, Jr., Felicia Lambert, Brittani Clark, Kaleb May, and Andrew May, Jr.; and her special friend, Sandy. Jean was preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward Stokes, Jr. and her grandson, Matthew Jacob Stokes. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 on Friday, December 28, 2012 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be George Helmick, Raymond Helmick, Eugene Stokes, Harry Harris, Pete Harris, Darrin Gregory, and Richard Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Galbert and Dale Galbert. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home or at 345 University Farm Road in Stuarts Draft.
