WILLIAM W. CHESTNUT STAUNTON, VA.. William Warwick Chestnut, 78, husband of Shirley (Jackson) Chestnut, of 44 Stanley Street, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at his residence. He was born January 1, 1934 in Mountain Grove, a son of the late Edward J. and Mabel (Trainer) Chestnut. Prior to retirement, Mr. Chestnut was employed by Unifi. In addition to his wife to whom he married on December 28, 1960, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, William W. and Robyn Chestnut of Staunton; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Larry Joe Chestnut of Neola, WV, Franklin and Dreama Chestnut of Hot Springs, and Bernard and Marie Chestnut of Neola, WV; three sisters, Lucy Cummings of Iron Gate, Erma Jean McKinney of White Sulpher Springs, WV, and Mary Grace Chesnut of Salem; a brother-in-law, Clarence C. Sheets of Marlinton, WV; a special little friend, Foxy; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Murl, George, Howard, and Grady Chestnut. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Randy Wagner. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be his nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, and from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
