WILLIAM C. HALL FORT DEFIANCE William Carvel Hall, 80, husband of Anna (Hull) Hall, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born on June 14, 1932, in Bristol, Maryland, to the late Thom W. and Margaret (Wilson) Hall. Mr. Hall served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland and received his Master's Degree from the American University. He was post commander for VFW Post #2424 for a number of years and was currently an active member of Verona VFW Post #10826. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Federal probation and parole officer for the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. In addition to his wife, family members include a daughter, Deidre Lewis of Fort Defiance; and three grandchildren, Joseph Kaminski, Joshua Kaminski, and Tai Lewis all of Fort Defiance. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thom Hall; and a sister, Margaret Fremeau. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Matthew Fike. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Verona VFW Post #10826. Active pallbearers will be Matthew Patterson, Joseph Kaminski, Joshua Kaminski, Andrew Simonetti, Brandon Patterson, Carl Hull, and Gene Hull. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren, 91 Valley Church Road, Weyers Cave, VA 24486. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.henryfuneralhome.net .
