William J. Heintz

Staunton, VA… William John Heintz, 81, husband of Elaine (Johnson) Heintz, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Kings Daughters. He was born on December 11, 1936 in Elmherst, New York to the late Charles Milton and Frances Inglebaugh (Dahlstrom) Heintz. Mr. Heintz retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the Navy.  Prior to that, he was in the Special Forces in the Army and served in Vietnam and Korea.  He was loved by his family and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.  In addition to his wife, surviving family members include three daughters, Catherine Mina Heintz McWhorter and husband, Joseph, Heidi Francine Heintz, and Laurel Lyn Heintz Bowen; and three grandchildren, Jessica Marquis Wade and fiancé, Greg Siron, Dane Davidson Wade III, and Alaina Camille McWhorter. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark William Heintz. There will be no local services as were his wishes.  He will be laid to rest at sea.
