STAUNTON, VA William Robert Leach, Jr., 82, widower of Amandabelle (Desper) Leach, formerly of Balsley Road, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Kings Daughters Community Health & Rehab. He was born on April 25, 1933 in Verona, the son of William Robert, Sr., and Mary Louise (Botkin) Leach. Mr. Leach was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in Korea. He was employed by Smith's Transfer for 35 years and was a commercial sales person with Central Tire for 11 years. He was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, elder and trustee. All who knew and loved Bill enjoyed his many stories over the years. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray W. and Angela C. Leach of Fishersville, and Randy R. and Nancy A. Leach of Staunton; a daughter and son-in-law, Gaynelle L. and William R. Maki of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Lauren K. Leach, Brittney M. Leach, Rachel M. Maki, and Jonathan W. Maki; a step granddaughter, Candice M. and husband, John D. Smith; and four great grandchildren, Ian, Carter, Ashby and Reid Smith. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Olivet Presbyterian Church by Rev. Lee Thomas. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Langdon Reid, Jim Moore, Gary Nulty, Gene Ragland, Chris Ragland, and Mark Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders of Olivet Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Henry Funeral Home.
