WILLIAM NOBLE, IV STAUNTON, VA… William Noble, IV, 87, husband of Clare (Oakman) Noble, of Staunton, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at Augusta Health. He was born December 8, 1929 in Fraesburgh, Scotland, a son of the late William Noble, III, and Jean Noble. Mr. Noble was a veteran of the Royal Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was employed by American Honda with 15 years of service. He raised cattle on his farms in Middlebrook and South Carolina. William was an official soccer referee in Scotland and enjoyed coaching youth soccer. He was an avid stamp collector and golfer. In addition to his wife of 60 years, family members include two sons, William Noble, V, of Staunton and Robert Noble of New York; two daughters, Jean Persico of California and Margaret Garner of South Carolina; a sister, Anne Duncan of Scotland; seven grandchildren, William “Scott” Noble, VI, Heather McVaugh, Erin Stoner, Sidney Ungerger, Bryan Garner, Logan Garner, and Emily Garner; and a great granddaughter, Scarlett Stoner.
