William W. Fox

STUARTS DRAFT, VA...William “Bill” Wesley Fox, 85, died Thursday evening, May 26, 2016, surrounded by family and friends, following a courageous battle with lymphoma. Born June 24, 1930, in Lima, Ohio, Bill and his wife, Ruth M. Fox, moved to Virginia in 2004.  She preceded him in death in 2012 just days before their 62nd wedding anniversary.   Bill’s parents, Jacob and Marie Beeler Fox, both died when Bill was 14. He lived with his sisters and brother and their families and learned his trademark skills of creativity, craftsmanship, and organization as well as an ethic of honor and fundamental Christian values.  He was proud to serve his country in the army from 1951-53 at Fort Hood, Texas. Bill devoted his professional career to construction management and was a long-standing partner in Hume Supply, Inc., in Ohio. His service to God applied this special ability to thousands of service projects in Ohio and in Virginia through local churches (especially youth camps), Habitat for Humanity, and in Virginia with Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta.  Bill was a dedicated member of Calvary United Methodist Church and served the Methodist church throughout his life.  Bill is survived by his daughter, Pamela Fox, son-in-law, Dan Layman, his sisters Betty Detrick and June Bowsher in Ohio, as well as his sister-in-law Audrey Myers and loving nephews and nieces as well as by scores of his devoted Christian friends. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, May 31, at 11:00 am at Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuart’s Draft. The family will receive friends at the church between 10:00 and 10:45 am.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be dedicated to Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta or Calvary United Methodist Church.  The family offers special appreciation to Hospice of the Shenandoah and our loving caregivers of Home Instead.  Condolences may be made to the family online at henryfuneralhome.net.
