Willie Faye "Nanny" Stanley

STAUNTON, VA… Willie Faye “Nanny” Stanley, 96, died Sunday, May 15, 2016.  She was born in Cass, WV, a daughter of Hattie Ray and William Marvin Gragg, on 2/15/20.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester E. Stanley, an infant son, Elwood, two brothers, Earl and Raymond Gragg and two sisters, Myrtis Wolfe and Violet Hevener. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and David Balsley of Staunton, a grandson, Joel Balsley and his wife Heather, a great-grandson, Jake, all of Vinton, VA, a faithful sister and friend, Llana Hatter, of Staunton and several nieces and nephews. She was a longtime member of Christ UMC where she had been active in her Sunday School and the United Methodist Women.  She has served on the Staunton Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary and was an avid fan of watching WWE on Monday and Thursday nights. A funeral service will be conducted at Christ UMC on Churchville Avenue in Staunton by the Rev. Janet Knott and Lay leader, Jim Sumner on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 6-7:30 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Guy, Phil Phillips, Lee Hevener, Jim Myers, Morris Henderson, Tim Hunley, and Harry Hogshead.
