Wilma Dean Acord

WILMA D. ACORD STAUNTON, VA Wilma Dean (Phillips) Acord, 79, widow of Eugene George Acord, of 305 Archer Street, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born February 28, 1934, in Welch, West Virginia a daughter of the late William and Stella Agnes (Norcross) Phillips. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Acord was employed as a manager at Rite Aid and was co-owner of Gene's Farm Market. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She was a very special lady that loved her family and her dog, Emmy. Family members include three daughters, Tina Grant and Samuel Toler, of Stuarts Draft, Paula A. Conner and Robert Curd of Fishersville, and Penny Loan and Danny, of Raphine; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Ruby Phillips of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Matt Acord, Chad Agnor, Heather Agnor, Jamie Orebaugh, and Ashley Grant; and fourteen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Roy Lee Trump. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Danny Loan, Robert Curd, Samuel Toler, Chad Agnor, Matt Acord, and David Loan. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013, in the funeral home.
