WINIFRED B. WARNER STAUNTON, VA Winifred Lucille "Winnie" (Butler) Warner, 88, widow of Reid Weldon Warner, of Staunton, went home to her Heavenly Father Sunday, February 12, 2012, at her residence. She was born October 13, 1923, in Elkton, a daughter of the late Sheldon and Carrie (Morris) Butler. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Warner was employed by General Electric with 27 years of service. She enjoyed retirement and all the special friends she made volunteering at the S.P.C.A. Thirft Store. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Owen G. Butler. Family members include a daughter, Patricia Rowe; a grandson, Billy Rowe, both of Staunton; a sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Eddie Barnett of Winchester; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Elenor Butler of Austin, TX; and many nieces and nephews who were greatly loved. She also shared many precious times with a very special friend, Marshall Shifflett of Elkton and cared deeply about his children and their families. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. Russell Heinrich. For those who wish to remember her it is suggested contributions be made to a charity of one's choice.
