William E. Bess, Jr.

March 25, 1953 - February 3, 2022

William Ernest Bess, Jr., 68, husband of Jeannette Louise Lynch Bess passed away on February 3, 2022 at Choice Healthcare in Waynesboro. William was born on March 25, 1953 to the late William Ernest Bess, Sr. and Ruth Barnett King-Bess. Mr. Bess was an over the road truck driver for over 35 years and his CB handle was Rubber Duck. He was a member of the American Legion and CERT. He loved hunting and the mountains. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. In addition to his wife of 35 years, he is survived by his daughter Anita Marie Bess-DePasquale and son-in-law Christopher Paul DePasquale, Jr., his daughter Virginia Stone, his step-son Alvin Robert Manuel, his sister Charlotte Maxey, and his grandson Levi Wray Staton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ernestine and his granddaughter Elizabeth Stone. A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
