Alfred Lee Johnson, 72, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.

He was born on February 21, 1953, in Staunton to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Annie Cleo Coffey Johnson.

Alfred was a gifted wood finisher, admired for his meticulous craftsmanship.

Above all, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his sons, Micah Nathan Johnson and his wife, Shana and Clinton Alfred Johnson; his stepson, Rodney Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Michelle; his sisters, Irene Lavinia Johnson Lawhorne, Geneva Ruth Johnson Asbury, Dorothy Ann Johnson Serrett Arey; his grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Luke Harrison, Daniel, Rodney Theodore, III, and Brandon David Johnson; his companion of thirty-two years, Elizabeth V. Johnson and her son, Kenny and his wife, Amanda.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David Lee Johnson; his brother, Rodney Theodore Johnson; his sisters, Donna Kay Johnson Swisher, Linda Dale Johnson and Marie Catherine Johnson Hartman; his granddaughter, Stella May Johnson; and his niece, Teresa Johnson.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday May 29, 2025, at Barren Ridge Church of The Brethren in Hermitage with Reverend Steve Lawhorne officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Lee Johnson, Jeffrey Asbury, Kenny Johnson, Lino and Angelo Dagostino and Mikle Asbury.
