Alvin D. Williams

Alvin Douglas Williams, 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Augusta Health in Fishersville. 

He was born on April 15, 1942, in Summers County, West Virginia, to the late French Colonel and Lottie Melinda Ballangee Williams.

Alvin enjoyed a fulfilling career as a mechanic for East Agra, Inc. in Stuarts Draft.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Alvin honorably served in Vietnam, embodying the values of courage and resilience.

Outside of his professional life, Alvin had a love for the outdoors in his early years - especially hunting and fishing.

Alvin is survived by his stepson, John Kane, and his sisters, Joyce Ella Huffman Williams and Leota Phyllis Williams Spade. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda Irene Barger Williams; his stepson, Walter Barger Kane; his brothers, Paul Gilmer, Ronald Wilson, Tommy Joe, and Ralph Omer Williams; his sisters, Marianna Williams Ward, Virginia Ruth Williams Hicks, Vivian Evelyn Williams Raines; and Verna Mae Williams Voires; and his half-siblings, Zelma Blanche Williams and James Eldon Balengee.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Steeles Tavern with Billy Coffey officiating. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Wanda Irene Barger Williams to the Alzheimer’s Association (3550 S. Clark St. Suite 203 Arlington, VA. 22202).
