ANDERSON E. DANIEL STAUNTON, VA… Anderson Edward “Ed” Daniel, 68, husband of Barbara Daniel, of Staunton, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born June 12, 1948 in Staunton, a son of Ann (Phillips) Daniel and the late John B. Daniel. Mr. Daniel retired as a Major with the Army National Guard and as a local masonry sales specialist. In addition to his mother and his loving wife of 47 years, family members include his children, Anderson and wife, Christina of Raphine, Christopher and wife, Dixie, of Staunton, Heather Gregory and husband, Adam, of Staunton; grandchildren, Zachary Sumner, Kyla and Jacklyn Daniel, Jacob Gregory; a sister, Vickie Bashaw and husband, William; as well as other extended family. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, in Cherryvale United Methodist Church.The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ed’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1445 Rio Road East, Suite 104, Charlottesville, VA 22901 or to the Augusta Regional SPCA, 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401.The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.
