Anna Lou Dula Bullman, widow of Alonzo Bullman,  peacefully passed away on August 31, 2023, at the age of 90 at Brookdale in Staunton. She was born on May 12, 1933, in Robbinsville, North Carolina to her loving parents Jesse James Dula and Iva Lee Phillips Dula. 

Anna Lou was known for her vibrant personality that left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. She retired from a property assessor position in the City of Staunton Assessor's Office.  Her meticulous approach and attention to detail earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the community she served.

Outside of work, Anna Lou actively participated in various organizations close to her heart. She was a long time member of Verona United Methodist Church. Anna Lou also dedicated her time as a member of the Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad Auxiliary, serving as a support for emergency responders in their mission to save lives. Her unwavering commitment to helping others was truly inspiring.

Aside from her professional accomplishments and community involvement, Anna Lou had a passion for golf. She delighted in spending sunny afternoons on the green with friends and family, relishing every moment shared and creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.

Anna Lou's memory will forever live on through her surviving family members; her children, Steven Alonzo Bullman, Anita "Lynne" Bullman Spangler and husband John, and Kathy Ann Bullman Neil; her grandchildren, Michael L. McComas and wife Jennifer, J. Morgan McComas and wife Tammy, Matthew S. McComas and wife Meredith, Christopher A. Neil and wife Dawn, Travis G. Neil and friend Sheree Valentine, Justin A. Bullman and fiancée Amber Lissa, Jaclyn A. Stanberry and husband Jay; her great-grandchildren, Emily S. McComas, Rowan M. McComas, Maeve E. McComas, Chloe M. McComas, Declan M. McComas, Luke W. McComas, Cameron A. McComas, Wesley J. McComas, Kiele Neil, Warrick Neil, and Jocelyn Neil; her step-grandchildren, Stephanie Spangler Caricofe and Valerie Spangler Ward; her step-great-grandchildren, Brynnlee Ward, Jake Ward, and Steele Caricofe; and her sister, Jimmie Waynette Dula Holder. 

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Aileen Dula Lusk, Mary Eloise Dula Wall, Lillian Marvine Dula Thomas, and Bonnie Sue Dula Stoner, and her daughter-in-law, Bridget G. Bullman.

During this time of mourning, a visitation will be held to honor Anna Lou's life on September 8, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Verona United Methodist Church located at 406 Lee Highway in Verona, Virginia.  Following the visitation will be a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the same location. Pastor Ed Rigg will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
