Anthony W. Cash

Anthony “Tony” Wilson Cash, 66, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his residence in Churchville.

He was born on April 9, 1959, in Rockbridge County to the late Vivian Maxine Campbell.

Tony dedicated over thirty-five years of his life to working as a steamfitter, a trade he took great pride in.

He had a passion for hunting and found joy in classic muscle cars, often spending time restoring them to their former glory. He was also a Harley enthusiast, enjoying the freedom of the open road. Known for his sense of humor, Tony was a jokester who had a wonderful ability to make people laugh.

Every Thanksgiving, he took great pleasure in cooking the annual feast for his family, a time that many cherished. Tony was a devoted member of the Steamfitters Local #602, where he formed lasting friendships over the years.

He is survived by his daughters, Vanessa Cash and Kris Stansberry and Amanda Cash; his sister, Wanda Gail Cash Ganson and her husband, Brion; brothers, Michael and Jay Fields, and Jason McClelland and his wife, Leigh; his beloved grandson, Kristopher Cash Stansberry; and his dog, Max.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Fields; his sister, Cheryl Lavonne Frost Jarvis; and his stepfather, Gilbert Johns.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with Reverend Clay Sterrett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM.

Interment will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Timber Ridge ARP Church Cemetery in Lexington.
