Barbara Ann Blackwell

Barbara Ann (Rohr) Blackwell, 72, widow of Robert Ree Blackwell, Jr., of Middlebrook, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 15, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born October 27, 1948, in Staunton, a daughter of the late Arthur Dabney and Willie Virginia (Knott) Rohr.

Mrs. Blackwell was a devoted wife and mother having raised 5 daughters, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and over 60 foster children. She was a member of Waynesboro Mennonite Church. She loved Westerns and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, she was preceded in death by a son, Jason Blackwell; a sister, Evelyn Johnson; and three brothers, Ronald L. and Donald L. Rohr, and Richard Dull, Jr.

Family members include seven children and their spouses, Dana Eavers (Scott), Tammy Campbell (Wayt), Lisa Shifflett (Mike), Contina Hill (Wayne), Aletha Mallow (Terry), Misty Sprouse, and Kenny Blackwell; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021, in McElwee Chapel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021, in the Henry Funeral Home.
