Betty Susan Miller Bartley, 92, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, Augusta Health Shenandoah House in Fishersville.

She was born on May 4, 1933, in Augusta County, to the late Harold Bittle and Mary Jane Snyder Miller.

Betty was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family and her home. For a short period of time before dedicating herself to her family, she worked as a registered nurse at King’s Daughters Hospital in Staunton.

She was a lifelong member of Saint James Lutheran Church, where she was deeply involved in the WELCA Women’s Circle and the church choir.

Betty’s love for life was reflected in the simple joys she cherished. She loved gardening, especially tending her roses. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she delighted in cooking and baking for family and friends, sharing her warmth and hospitality with everyone she loved.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Kathryn Bartley; her grandson, Kaleb David Bartley (Alexis Smith); and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Bartley.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dudley Bartley; and her son, David Miller Bartley.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Saint James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Fishersville with Reverend Gordon Putnam officiating.
