Betty Stover Henderson went to be with the Lord on Tuesday September 13, 2022.
Betty will forever be loved by her husband of 66 years, Major General (Ret.) John Paris Henderson, Jr., her two daughters Ashley Margaret (Henderson) Messer of North Carolina, Anita Paris (Henderson) Sykes and her husband Linwood L. Sykes, III of Manakin Sabot, VA, three grandchildren, Kayla Paris Sykes (Haley A. Baldwin), Collin Anthony Sykes (Amanda H. Sykes), and Tyson Statton Messer (Taylor H. Messer).
Betty cherished and adored her family, especially her grandchildren who knew her as “Mimi”.
Betty was born on March 30, 1934 in Staunton, VA, daughter of the late Forrest Earl and Margaret (Ramsey) Stover.
She was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School, Class of 1951. Betty retired from the Undergraduate Admissions Office of the University of Richmond. She had also worked for Augusta National Bank in Staunton and First & Merchants Bank in Richmond, VA. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Richmond.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother Forrest Earl Stover, Jr., and her son-in-law, Ricky L. Messer.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
