Our beloved mom and grandma, Betty Jean (Sprinkle) Roadcap, age 91, was embraced by our Lord and entered the gates of heaven on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, with her loving family by her side at her residence.
She was born on October 15, 1934, in Broadway, Virginia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Showalter) Sprinkle.

Her dedication to her church community reflected her kind and loving spirit. She will be fondly remembered as a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who brought warmth and love to all who knew her.
Betty was united in marriage to Dwight Roadcap on October 2, 1949; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Bailey and her partner, Mike of Weyers Cave and Darlene McCray of Staunton, her primary caregiver for the past ten years, and a foster son John Woodson of Mississippi. Betty was the last survivor of her member of her immediate family. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Augusta Hospice and especially to Betty’s nurse Mary for the compassionate care provided during this time.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Shenandoah Baptist Church in Verona (170 Lee Highway, Verona, Virginia 24482). The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM.
