Beverly Martin Winegard, 71, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born on June 8, 1954, in Harrisonburg to the late Wallace Warren and Ferraba McCray Winegard.

In 1985, he completed Mindenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point, North Carolina. He worked for both Shenandoah Valley Stockyards and Rockingham Stock Sales, where he became well known for his familiar voice and his love of working with people. He was also a devoted farmer who took great pride in the land and in the agricultural ways of life.
He was a member of Lebanon Church of the Brethren. One of his greatest joys was spending time farming alongside his grandchildren and supporting them as they showed animals at livestock events. He was known for his leadership, hardworking nature, and especially for the role he loved most - being a “Supervisor.”
He is survived by his daughters, Ida Lynn and her husband, Lester, Mary Kay Winegard Magers and her husband, Alan, and Loretta Lynn Winegard; a special daughter, Jessica Wise and her husband, Dustin; his sister, Sherry Lynn Trageser; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Balser Winegard; and his brother, Warren Warfield Winegard.
