Carl V. Hiner, Jr.

Carl Victor Hiner, Jr., 68, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

He was born on December 22, 1956, in Staunton to the late Carl Victor, Sr. and Laquitta Aminee Harris Hiner.

Carl spent his career working as a driver for WNI Industries.

Outside of his work life he was a people person and truly enjoyed social gatherings, where his stories, and easygoing nature made everyone feel welcome.

An outdoorsman through and through, he found great joy in hunting and fishing. He was also a gun enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Stuart Desper Hiner; his son, Evan Hiner; his sister, Susan Elaine Wells; his grandchildren, Eve, Barbara, and Kirsten Hiner, Damien Tumor and Laura Clark; his great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Isabelle, and Aarion Hiner; and his nephew, Troy Harris.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Leotta Ann Hiner Redifer; and his “brother”, Paul Harris.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton with Reverend Warren Knott officiating.
