Carol S. Ryder

Carol Sue (Defibaugh) Taylor Ryder, 75, widow of Nickolas Edward Ryder, Sr., passed away on December 10, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Ryder was born on December 2, 1946 in Caldwell, WV, to the late William and Lucy Marie (Wilke) Defibaugh.

Mrs. Ryder is survived by her sons, Chester Wayne Taylor, Dennis Taylor (Vickie), and Stanley Taylor; her daughter, Vanessa Cropp; brothers, Frank (Anna) Defibaugh of Caldwell, WV, Everette (Sandra) Defibaugh of Lewisburg, WV, George Defibaugh of Caldwell, WV; sisters, Betty Loomis of Fishersville, Micky Trent of Mobile, AL, Wennie Howdyshell of Staunton, Linda Moorehart of Finley, OH, Wilma Childs of Goldsboro, NC, and Hilda Perry of White Sulphur Springs, WV; her stepsons, Nickolas E. Ryder, Jr. and Mike A. Ryder; her stepdaughters, Lisa R. Wells (Gerald) and Teresa R. Vanessa (Baines); 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 31 years and her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Christian; two sisters, Janice Defibaugh and Shirley Dirmilie; one brother, Eddie Defibaugh; grandson, Christopher Taylor; and a great-grandson Isaac Flint.

A memorial service will be held on December 22,2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Rejoicing Life Church, 116 Draft Ave, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477, by Pastor Mike Lawson.
