Charles William Sensabaugh, Sr., 94, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.
He was born on August 11, 1930, in Craigsville to the late James Bolivar and Mary Virginia Forbes Sensabaugh.
Charles led a career as a forklift operator, contributing his skills at Daikin in Verona.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Charles was a man of diverse interests and hobbies. He took great delight in spending time outdoors, where he spent countless hours deer and turkey hunting.
Additionally, his love for baseball was well-known among friends and family. Charles cherished attending games and following his favorite teams. Charles was an avid reader, finding solace and excitement within the pages of the many books he enjoyed throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Kay Sensabaugh Ware; his grandson, Christopher C. Ware and his wife, Crissy; his brothers-in-law, Marvin Johnson, James R. Johnson and his wife, Anita; his sisters-in-law, Ginger Johnson and Mary J. Zwart; and his great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, James Christopher, and Amber Ware.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Lee Johnson Sensabaugh; his son, Charles William Sensabaugh, Jr.; his sisters, Edith Virginia Sensabaugh Campbell and Callie Mae Sensabaugh Gregory.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.
Interment will be private at McKinley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Middlebrook.
