Charles Edward Underwood

CHARLES E. UNDERWOOD WAYNESBORO, VA Charles Edward Underwood, 82, husband of Nancy Jo (Burns) Underwood, died Monday, October 17, 2011, in the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. He was born April 21, 1929, in Rennick, WV, a son of the late Delmer Guy and Mary Emily (North) Underwood. Mr. Underwood was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Smith's Transfer. In addition to his wife, family members include a son, David Lee Underwood of Staunton; a daughter, Teresa Ann Underwood of Waynesboro; five sisters, Lula Agnes Durett, Mildred Marie Sharp, Eula Mae Sharp, Bernice Ellen Johnson, and Norma Lee Burke; and a grandson, Daniel Edward Underwood. He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Edward Underwood in 1964. There will be no public viewing or visitation. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
