Christian Lee Folweiler, 66, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at his residence in Staunton.
He was born on September 30, 1957, in Staunton, to Donald Lee Folweiler and the late Elizabeth Jean Grove Folweiler.
In addition to being a dedicated father and grandfather, Christian made a positive impact on the lives of many through his involvement in various community activities. He served as a Boy Scout Leader for several years, guiding and inspiring young boys on their journey to becoming responsible adults. His commitment to scouting was unparalleled.
Christian had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Hunting and fishing were not merely hobbies for him; they were expressions of his deep connection with nature. He found solace in the serene surroundings and cherished the memories he created during these escapades.
When he wasn't exploring the great outdoors, Christian could be found engrossed in a good book. Reading allowed him to escape into different worlds and expand his knowledge. His thirst for knowledge was unquenchable.
In addition to his father and stepmother of 58 years, Doris Cauley Folweiler, he is survived by, a son Ryan Lee Hutton Folweiler and his significant other, Kendall Marie Cline and grandson, Collin Parker Folweiler and granddaughter, Arabella Mae Folweiler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah "Debbie" Gail Crummett Folweiler and brother, Douglas Warren Folweiler.
To honor Christian's memory, a visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. A memorial service will follow the next day on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM, at Saint Paul's Church in Staunton. A private entombment will take place at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton at a later date.
Christian Lee Folweiler touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His legacy as a loving father and grandfather, faithful friend, and dedicated community member will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
