Clara “CB” Bell Ramsey Hollifield, 99, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at her residence in Newville, Pennsylvania.

She was born on August 17, 1926, in Montebello, Virginia to the late Earl Minor and Annie Myrtle Layton Ramsey.

Clara worked for over eighteen years as the assistant postmaster of the Montebello United States Post Office and was a faithful member of Mount Paran Baptist Church in Montebello.

Clara had a true zest for life. She was adventurous and loved taking cross-country trips, traveling all over the country. She enjoyed her Saturday night TV shows, especially the Gaither Homecoming series and The Statler Brothers Show. She also loved gardening and took great pride in canning her vegetables and tomatoes, something she continued doing even at the age of 99!

Clara was a caregiver at heart. She would sit with anyone who needed company and never hesitated to help others. She was known (in her own feisty way) for speaking her mind, A caregiver by nature, she spent countless hours sitting with those who needed companionship, comfort, or simply the presence of a true friend. She also loved wearing her bright pink lipstick, which became one of her trademarks.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn L. Lander and her husband, Tom; her brother, Marion Lee Ramsey; her sister-in-law, Margie Ramsey; her grandchildren, Juliet Saffold, Michelle Robertson, T.J. Robertson, Amber Carpenter and her husband, Samuel, and Coy Robertson, and his wife, Mallory; her great grandchildren, Bryan Saffold, Michael, Maggie, Conner, Rhett, Quinnie, Otto, and Evelyn Robertson; her great-great grandchildren, Nolan and Zoey Saffold; several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Mitchell Robertson, Sr.; her brothers, Minor Wilton, Boyd Ray, Roy James Ramsey and his wife, Polly, and William Coleman and his wife, Diane,; her sister, Mary Myrtle Ramsey Bryant, and her husband, Glen; and her sister-in-law, Patsy Ramsey.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Mount Paran Baptist Church in Montebello with Reverend Billy Coffey officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM.
