Connard E. Howdyshell

Connard E. Howdyshell, 91, widower of Jane Howdyshell, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at his residence in Augusta County. He was born in Augusta County on August 9, 1932 to the late Roy and Lettie Howdyshell.

He dedicated several years of his life serving in the US Air Force, where he exhibited immense bravery and commitment to his country.

Outside of his military service, Connard had a range of hobbies and interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He was a proud member of Woodmen of the World and took great pleasure in practicing the craft of woodworking. 

One of Connard's greatest joys in life came from being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He was adored by his family who looked up to him as a role model and mentor. His love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds, and he always made sure to create special memories with each and every one of them.

Connard is survived by his two daughters, Donna Patterson and her husband, Charles III and Ceseli Howdyshell;  his brother, Harold Howdyshell; his grandchildren, Willie Michael and husband, Kris, Bly Shank and husband, Derick, and Rory Howdyshell and wife, Megan; and four great-grandchildren, Tristan Michael, Kinze Michael, Charleigh Shank, Graham Shank, and Allison Rush.

A private graveside service will be held.
