Constance “Connie” Marie (Gibson) Fleisher, 76, wife of 59 years of Thomas L. Fleisher, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at her residence.
Mrs. Fleisher was born in Staunton on November 10, 1945 to the late John W. and Sylvia (Peyton) Gibson.
She retired from Staunton City Public Works as a clerk and prior to that worked as a directory assistance operator with Bell Atlantic. Mrs. Fleisher was a member of St. Paul’s Church.
Connie enjoyed cooking her signature dishes for her family, bowling weekly with her friends from work, playing bingo with Roberta and her buddies, beach trips to Atlantic Beach, bird watching with Dad and Matthew on their deck, and spoiling her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter, Mark W. Fleisher (Jim Peters), Matthew P. Fleisher, and Michele F. Mumaw (Jim); and two grandchildren, Katherine Mumaw (Wes Breeden) and Holly Mumaw.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Emory L. and Edith Gibson.
The family will receive friends at St. Paul’s Church from 6 until 8 pm, Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 15, 2022 at St. Paul’s Church by the Reverend Ryan Oswald and Pastor Dennis Taylor. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Bob Paul, Bo Flint, Chris Folweiler, Todd Huntley, David Meyr, Glen Oberholtzer, Scott Fleisher, and Dean Argenbright.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Board of Ushers, Earl Cox, Glen Oberholtzer, Jimmy Gwynn, Richard Kirkland, Michael Kelley, Roger Velasquez, Hector Fernandez, Colin Wilkinson, and Ken Nicholas.
