Daniel Aubrey McLaughlin, 47, went home to the Lord, Jesus on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
He was born on May 23, 1979, in Waynesboro, to David Wayne and Carolyn Lee Sours McLaughlin.
Daniel was a graduate of Riverheads High School in Greenville and spent much of his working life as a professional truck driver.
He attended Greenville United Methodist Church and was an avid health and fitness enthusiast who took great pride in staying active. Daniel was also a gifted pianist. His ability to play the piano was a special talent and one that brought enjoyment to those fortunate enough to hear him play.
Daniel had a lifelong love for anything with an engine and a little speed. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed owning and riding motorcycles. He also took pride in his older Mazda Miata, a car he still owned. Over the years, he made it uniquely his own, adding ground effects and making various modifications to increase its performance. The finished product was an exceptionally fast car and a reflection of Daniel's enjoyment of making things his own.
Perhaps most importantly, Daniel will be remembered for his generous heart and his deep love for animals. His kindness, talents, and many interests were all part of what made Daniel uniquely himself.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, David Wayne McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife, Stacy; his uncle, Richard Yancey McLaughlin; and his beloved fiancé, Judy Santos and her daughter, Kyrzten Santos.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Greenville United Methodist Church.
Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends for a brief time of visitation.
The burial will be private.
Memorial donations may be made the General Fund at Greenville United Methodist Church (126 Main Street, Greenville, VA 24440).
Henry Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
