David C. Stahl

David Conrad Stahl, 68, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah House in Fishersville.

He was born on November 25, 1956, in Harrisonburg to the late Milo Daniel and Viola Pearl Diener Stahl.

David dedicated his life to the many passions that defined him.

He earned a bachelor’s degree and went on to build a career as a Maintenance Engineer in the healthcare field.

David was a spiritual man of deep passion and creativity. A gifted fiddle player who loved classical music. He served on the session at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Staunton. His artistic talents also found expression at the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, where he served as a costumed interpreter, delighting visitors with engaging storytelling, fiddle playing, and his deep appreciation for history.

David’s commitment to community extended well beyond the arts. He was a tireless advocate for peace and social justice, deeply involved in initiatives that brought people together. His work with "Building Bridges for the Greater Good" was especially meaningful to him, as he strove to foster understanding and build unity across diverse groups.

Known for his remarkable practical skills, David was always ready to lend a helping hand or take on a challenging project. His love of history, combined with his commitment to lifelong learning, made him an invaluable resource to those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Grace Pines Stahl; his daughters, Zoe Frances and Julia Pearl Stahl; his sisters, Ramona Stahl Cowardin and her husband, David, Milonica Stahl-Wert and her husband, John, and Sonya Eberly and her husband, Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Staunton with Reverend John Peterson officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah House (64 Sports Medicine Dr. Fishersville, VA 22939) or Heifer International (1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202).
