Deborah Knopp Jackson, 72, of Staunton, a loving wife, devoted mother, and beloved Grambee, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Born on April 30, 1952, in Staunton, to the late Simon Welcome and Patricia Ann Vines Knopp, Debbie attended Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton before furthering her education at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave.
Debbie had a dedicated career as an administrative assistant for the Fairfax County Police Department, where she found joy serving her community and supporting those in law enforcement. Her commitment to her work reflected her deep sense of duty and love for her fellow citizens.
An active member of Memorial Baptist Church in Staunton, Debbie inspired others through her unwavering faith and devotion. She loved the Lord passionately and was a steadfast participant in church activities. Her faith was an essential aspect of her life, intertwining with her love for family and friends. She shared her love and spirit, listening and empathizing with so many friends and family - making special connections that will endure.
She enjoyed reading and writing, especially sharing her devotional inspirations. Some of her happiest times were spent with family - both immediate and extended.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Blair Jackson; her children, Melinda and her husband, Charles, Matthew and his fiancée, Charlotte, Joseph, and Patrick and his wife, Anna; her grandchildren, Zachary, Rebekah, Phoebe, Anthony, Paiden, Liam, Ryleigh, Harmony and Amelia; her sisters, Diane Knopp Fridley and her husband, David, Jenny Knopp Crouch, and Studley Knopp Robson and her husband, Todd.
Her life will be celebrated during a memorial service to be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Latham officiating. The family will receive friends following the conclusion of the service.
