Doris Anne Smith

Doris Anne (Miller) Smith, 94, widow of Maurice Parker “Smitty” Smith, Sr., of Staunton, died Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Augusta Health, Fishersville.

She was born September 24, 1926, in Bridgewater, a daughter of the late Harry Alfred and Annie (Barnett) Miller.

She was a longtime member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.

She loved spending time with her family and loved camping, especially at Walnut Hills Campground and Sulpher Springs Campground in Goshen.

Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Maurice P., Jr., and Kay (Nuckols) Smith of Staunton and Terry L. and Linda (Hahn) Smith of Verona; three grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Fix and Nevin Hamlin III, Donald Lee Smith, and Ronald William Smith; and two great grandchildren, Paige Lynn Fix and Parker Clinton Fix.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Chuck Cole. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Bill and Glenn Colvin, Shawn and Jason Smith, Nevin Fix III and grandsons, Ronald and Donald Smith.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
