Dorothy A. Back

Dorothy Alliene Back, 92, widow of Frank Preston Back, Sr, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at her residence in Staunton.

Dorothy was born on April 25, 1931, a daughter of the late George Augustus and Ruby Hanger Coffman Argenbright.

She loved bingo and the Boston Celtics. She was also a devoted member of the Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Back Campbell and Doris Jean Back Leach; her two sons, Robert Lewis and Frank Preston Back, Jr. ; and her grandchildren Chloe and Jeffrey Back, Jeremy Leach, Jenny Kane, Angela Robinson, Amber Thorne and Ash Campbell; her great-grandchildren, Terran Williams, Killian Robinson, Mallory Thorne, Katelyn Williams, Tyler and Cameron Bouthillier, and Jackson Leach; her special nieces and nephews, Johnny and Linda Hildebrand, Barry and Evelyn Argenbright, and Joyce Dull; her special dog Taco; and special friends, Julia Rohr and Kathy Gayhart.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Allison Nicole “Nikki” Back; her brothers, Clyde Augusta and George Washington Argenbright; her sisters, Ellen Margaret Argenbright Wagner, Ruby Frances Argenbright Hemp Hall, Mary Agnes Argenbright Hildebrand, Annie R. Argenbright Arehart Baylor, Minnie Mary Argenbright Sipe, and Rosa Virginia Argenbright. She was the last of her immediate family.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens with Pastor Jack Glover officiating.
