Douglas Dale Farrar

Douglas Dale Farrar, 74, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at his residence in Staunton.

He was born on March 31, 1951, in Norfolk, VA to the late Wesley and Claudia Mooneyham Farrar.

Doug was a proud member of the United States Army, taking great pride in his time spent in military service.

Doug was a Correctional Officer with the State of Virginia for more than 20 years. He was a member of White Hill Church of the Brethren. Along with his wife Karen, they served as foster parents for many children over the years. He enjoyed woodworking and watching home improvement TV shows. He also worked part-time at Lowe’s.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Becky.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, his children, Brian, Megan, Brittany, Chris, and Colin, his grandchildren, Lexie, Khaleesi, Zeva, Annaleese, and Sabastian, and his sisters, Sandra, Donna, Linda, Robin, Penny, and Toni.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday July 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at White Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery by pastor Dave Chappell.

There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.
