Listen to Obituary

Dwane R. Knowles,76, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.

Dwane was born on November 19, 1949, in Waynesboro to the late Earl Burgess and Mary Louise Maupin Knowles.

Dwane proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a dog handler alongside his faithful dog, Duke.

He had a great love for yard sales and finding antiques and was also a Staunton collector. Music was another one of his joys; he loved playing instruments and writing songs, enriching the lives of those around him with his creativity.

Dwane was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His greatest joy in life was spending time with all of them.

He is survived by his wife, Constance M. Knowles; his son, Ricardo Ray Martin; his grandchildren, Emberly and Nathan Martin; his great-grandchildren, Luci, Hadley, Charlotte, and Maxwell; his brother-in-law, Timmy McMillan (Theresa); his sister-in-law, Jan Eavers (Eddie), and several cousins.

On Tuesday, June 9th at 7:30 pm, Marino's Lunch will host a Bluegrass Jam in Dwane's memory. His passion for bluegrass music has been embedded in Marino's Lunch since it's early days, and he was a longtime member of the House Guitar. Marino's Lunch and Dwane's family invite you to join us for an evening of music and remembrance.
