Dwight "Dave" David Pelny, 68, of Waynesboro, was met at the gates of Heaven and entered into his eternal home on Friday, June 6, 2025, with his loving daughter, Dava Jean Pelny, by his side.
Dave was born in Staunton on September 29, 1956, to the late Peter and Erika Königsmann Pelny.
A U.S. Army veteran, Dave brought the same dedication and discipline to his work as a master brewer at Coors, where he helped shape the traditions of American brewing with skill and passion. Outside of work, Dave’s talent as a gifted guitar player brought joy to many. He was known for his dry wit and sharp sense of humor – always ready with a perfectly timed joke to lift the mood or spark a laugh. A devoted member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Fishersville, Dave lived his faith through kindness, humility, and service to others. His steady presence, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Along with his daughter, Dava, and her mother - Dave’s lifelong friend, Dani, he is survived by his brothers, Peter Leonard and Robert "Bobby" Erwin Pelny; many nieces and nephews; his cousins - especially, Axel and Bianca Groß - and the rest of his remaining family in Germany.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Bohlmann officiating.
Interment at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton will be private.
It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project (PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675).
