EDDIE HOLLAND STAUNTON, VA Eddie "Pops" Holland, 51, of Staunton, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the University Of Virginia Medical Center, surrounded by his children. He was born on September 8, 1961, in Rome, GA, to the late Hubert Anthony and Nancy (Brooks) Holland. He was a self-employed HVAC tech. He was formerly at Augusta Mechanical. He was a baseball coach for the Kiwana's and an avid NASCAR and Redskins fan. Family members include a son, Kenneth L. Holland of Staunton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Heather and Calvin Hartsook of Staunton and Tabitha L. Holland of Churchville; a step-son, Jamie Meeks; a brother, Anthony Holland of Staunton; a sister, Betty Jo Shafer of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Caelan, and Lily; a niece, Rene Holland; a nephew, Cole; a special friend close to his heart, Brenda Holland; and special friends, Penny Flavin, Chris Simmons, Alfie Wilson, and Mike Bang and his wife, Debbie. He was preceded in death by a twin brother at birth, Jeffrey Scott Holland; and special friends, Bill Lipscomb, Jack Shannon, Dwayne Helmick, and Timmy Campbell, Pam Corbin, and Winkie Wilson. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, in Thornrose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Simmons, Jeremy Simmons, Josh Brooks, "Turtle", Josh King, Peedee Stouffer, Travis Fitzgerald, Josh Rankin, Zach Small, and Jarred Mullenax. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Staunton Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 2414, Staunton, VA 24402.
