Emma Belle Moran Carpenter, 98, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Birch Gardens Assisted Living in Staunton.
She was born on May 5, 1925, in Augusta County, to the late Frank Crist, Sr. and Clara Margaret Yago Moran.
She was a member of the Staunton Church of the Brethren, but very active at Jerusalem Chapel. She loved cooking, baking, keeping a clean house and her grandkids.
She is survived by her son, Michael Lynn Carpenter, and his wife, Pamela; her daughter, Margaret Lee Carpenter Kincaid, and her husband, John; her grandchildren, Steven Kincaid and his wife, Fannie, Jeffery Kincaid, and his wife, Tina; her great-grandchildren, Abigal, Allison and Boone Kincaid, Brittany Godwin, Jessica Falkner; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Harper Carpenter; her brothers, Frank Crist Moran, Jr., Howard Marshall Moran, Sr., Hunter Garland Moran, William Thomas Moran, Sr., and Harold Wilson Moran, Sr.; and her sisters, Julia Frances Moran Fitzgerald, Doris Lee Moran Campbell, and Jo Ellen Moran Hollis.
A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton with the Reverend George Etling officiating.
