Farris M. Gwin

Farris Odessa (Moyers) Gwin, 86, a resident of 296 Skyview Circle in Verona, died on February 16, 2022 at Oak Grove Manor.

A daughter of the late Robert and Sadie (Gutshall) Moyers, she was born December 13, 1935 in Highland County.

Mrs. Gwin lived most of her life in Augusta County and retired from Brooks Restaurant.

On November 27, 1954 she married Roy Gwin who preceded her in death on September 11, 2001. Also, preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, was a brother, David Moyers, a sister, Nadine Vines, and a sister, Cora Carroll.

Surviving her is one son, Roy Gwin, Jr. and wife Diane; two daughters, Vicki Lyons and husband, Mike and Donna Mitchell and husband, Donald; a granddaughter, Michelle White (Connor); and a brother, Robert Colin Moyers (Dorothy), all of Staunton.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Augusta Memorial Park in Fishersville.

Active pallbearers will be Woody Hays, Robert McGuffin, Jeff Moyers, Travis Moyers, Doug Mitchell, and David Gigandet.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692, American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, or a charity of your choice in her memory.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Oak Grove Manor for their loving care to Mom over the past six years.
